泰国驻中国南宁市海外贸易促进办公室表示，泰国椰子品质优良，具有独特的甜味和芳香的味道，富含矿物质和维生素，受到新一代和有健康意识的人群的欢迎。目前，泰国是向中国出口椰子的第一大国家。
然而，自2024年8月22日起，中国正式允许进口越南椰子后，越南椰子可能会成为泰国椰子在中国市场的有力竞争对手。越南椰子具有与中国距离较近的优势，输出量高且售价更便宜。目前，有数据显示，越南椰子产量为200万吨，预计到2030年将达到210万-230万吨。
