乔治城：椰子日益短缺，已开始严重影响椰奶贸易商，一些贸易商甚至被迫暂时关闭经营。
阿卜杜勒拉欣奥马尔 (Abdul Rahim Omar) 在过去 30 年一直在牛汝莪 Taman Tun Sardon 市场销售新鲜椰奶，他说，今年开斋节前夕，由于完全没有货源，他无法在几十年的生意中做生意。
“每年开斋节前夕，我都会从早上5点开门营业到下午3点，以满足顾客的需求。然而，今年我没有开门营业，因为没有椰子供应。这是我做生意这么多年以来第一次遇到这种情况。”他告诉《新星期日泰晤士报》。
通常每周五、六、日，他都能轻松卖出160到200公斤椰子，包括椰奶。然而，这个周末，他三天只拿到了120公斤椰子，也就是每天40公斤。
“我甚至无法满足老顾客的需求。我凌晨4点开门营业，迎接那些预订的顾客。到了早上6点，我就回家了。我羞于面对那些不断向我索要货源的顾客，”他补充道。
在哥打巴鲁，一位不愿透露姓名的椰奶供应商表示，此次停工严重影响了他满足客户需求的能力，尤其是来自餐饮服务商的需求。
“我以前能从巴佐那里买到大概800个椰子，够三天用，现在都很难保证供应了。就在今天（昨天），很多老顾客来买，但我什么货都没有。”这位33岁的男子在店里见面时说道。
他表示，目前椰奶价格为每公斤 18 令吉以上，他相信，如果短缺持续下去，价格可能达到每公斤 30 令吉。
他补充说，现在一个椰子的价格为 3.80 令吉，但大多数椰子还很年轻，产出的椰子汁很少。
“椰蓉的价格现在每公斤11到12令吉，但以目前的质量和供应量来看，很难满足需求。这不仅影响到像我这样的商贩，也影响到餐饮业者和小型食品经营者。”
他还声称，大量成熟椰子被走私到泰国，进一步加剧了当地供应紧张。
丁表示，受影响的贸易商敦促当局监控供应链并遏制走私活动，以帮助稳定市场。
在人气颇高的瓦卡夫切耶市场（Wakaf Che Yeh）检查发现，有两家商贩已暂时停止营业。一位不愿透露姓名的商贩扎伊达（Zaidah）表示，这两家商贩自上周抱怨椰子采购困难后就一直没有营业。
来自亚罗士打 Pendang 的 44 岁商人 Kasmawati Abdul Karim 表示，自近二十年前涉足椰奶行业以来，她正面临着最严峻的挑战。
