菲律宾计划明年种植5000万棵椰子，夺回全球最大生产国地位

30年前，菲律宾曾是全球最大的椰子生产国，但是其地位被印度尼西亚夺走。近日，菲律宾总统马科斯提出，扩大椰子种植面积，重新夺回其作为世界最大椰子生产国的历史地位。
菲律宾椰子管理局（PCA）的目标是在2026年种植5000万棵椰子树，较原定的2500万棵目标翻一番。该计划是2023年启动的五年计划的一部分，旨在到2028年种植1亿棵椰子树。2024年到目前为止，已种植超850万棵椰子树，预计年底前还将种植至少1500万棵。
据介绍，马科斯总统已为此拨款，椰子管理局将与种植社区合作，加快生产种植材料。修订后的五年计划还包括通过施肥计划，提高现有3.4亿棵椰子树的产量。其中许多椰子树树龄较高，每年仅产出约40颗椰子，仅为最高产量的三分之一。
目前全球椰子油需求不断增长，部分原因是欧盟决定将棕榈油归类为环境不可持续的油类，计划在2030年前逐步停止进口，这为菲律宾等椰子生产国带来了新的机遇。与此同时，由于椰干产量下降以及新鲜椰子作为健康果汁的需求激增，全球椰子油价格也在上涨。
2024年印度尼西亚椰子产量为1713万吨，菲律宾为1477万吨。菲律宾椰子产量的下降很大程度归咎于2013年台风“尤兰达”的破坏，这场台风摧毁了约1000万棵椰子树。
