越南椰子协会报告显示，近4年来，越南新鲜椰子及原料价格暴涨，从2022年的3000越南盾/公斤上涨至1.8-1.9万盾/公斤，相当于上涨了6倍。
据介绍，近期越南椰子园新鲜椰子的收购价已达到18-19万盾/打（12个），约49.4-52.1元/打。加上运输和分级成本，一级椰子的零售价可高达25万盾/打。
业内人士表示，在经历了新冠疫情导致的一段低迷期后，椰子市场从2022年开始回暖，原料椰子价格也在经历长期稳定后进入强劲增长期。
椰子价格大幅上涨被认为是供需双方共同作用的结果。全球对椰子制品（例如食品、化妆品和生物燃料）的需求正在增长。与此同时，由于气候变化、长期干旱、病虫害和落后的耕作技术，越南的椰子产量正在减少。目前只有约20%的农民在椰子护理、施肥和病虫害防治方面投入了足够的资金，其他农民大多任椰子树自然生长，导致椰子产量低下且不稳定。
越南椰子协会秘书长CaoBaDangKhoa表示，极端天气延长了椰子的产果周期，导致产量下降。与此同时，椰子原料出口大幅增加，导致越南国内可供加工的椰子供应日益紧张。美国于2023年允许从越南进口新鲜椰子，中国从2024年8月开始准入越南新鲜椰子，一些中东国家也一直在增加从越南进口椰子。
虽然出口不断扩大，但越南国内的产能和生产力却未能跟上，导致原材料竞争激烈。目前越南椰子种植面积超过20万公顷，年产量约为200万吨。包装厂的数量从2015年的8家增加到了2024年的45家，Betrimex、LuongQuoi、Beinco等公司都在技术方面进行了投资。
相似的情况不仅发生在越南，据国际椰子组织（ICC）称，泰国、马来西亚、菲律宾和印度尼西亚等都因气候恶劣、化肥匮乏和供应链薄弱等原因而导致椰子原料短缺。其中菲律宾和印尼等国家凭借有效的信贷支持计划、供应链改善等措施留住了投资者。
椰子价格上涨在短期内使农民受益，但由于竞争激烈，加工企业很难在国际市场上提高产品价格，这给加工企业带来了困难。越南椰子协会建议通过税收或配额控制椰子原料出口，同时支持农民改良品种、技术和获得信贷，以实现整个产业链的可持续发展。
